Moderate to Low Cost Housing Study

I have been working with Long Island based not for profits on creating Low Income Housing and this is one of the early solutions.  It is a three bedroom ,two and a half bathroom house with or without basement. It can work both as a freestanding house and as a row house.  To create an energy efficient envelope the houses would be constructed utilizing SIP’s and can be both site or factory built (modular) .  One interesting, at least to me, aspect of this segment is that there seems to be a great resistance to building anything different then the existing bad builder housing that already exists.  I have heard comments like “this is too good for them” to “it’s not appropriate for our traditional village” to “it needs more street appeal”
